Punjab to launch India’s first patient facilitation centre at Patiala’s Government Rajindra Hospital
Dr Balbir Singh said the centre would offer comprehensive support to patients and their families, including access to the state's Rs 10 lakh health insurance scheme, which benefits 30 million residents and 6.5 million families. Located near the emergency ward, the centre will feature trained staff to guide patients to the relevant departments, thereby helping reduce congestion.
The minister made this announcement during a review of the ongoing construction work at the hospital, highlighting the state govt's dedication to delivering world-class healthcare.

Amenities such as air-conditioned waiting areas, clean restrooms, drinking water, a canteen, and access to medicines will also be available. Being developed by Kings XI Punjab, this pilot project aims to enhance healthcare delivery in the state. Similar centres will be established in district hospitals, medical colleges, and sub-divisional hospitals across Punjab. Operating 24/7, the facility will ensure quality healthcare and greater convenience for the public.
