Minister unveils plans to boost health infra in Tirupur district
The minister said a new RT-PCR testing centre would be set up at the government hospital at Udumalpet at a cost of 1.2 crore. “The hospital will also get a facility to conduct hearing tests for children and a treatment facility at a cost of 20 lakh.”
Talking to the media after inaugurating 12 hospital buildings in the district that were set up at a cost of nearly 3 crore, he said Tirupur would get an integrated essential laboratory at a cost of 10.2 crore.
The minister said a new RT-PCR testing centre would be set up at the government hospital at Udumalpet at a cost of 1.2 crore. “The hospital will also get a facility to conduct hearing tests for children and a treatment facility at a cost of 20 lakh.”
The government hospital at Avinashi, the minister said, would get a separate block for maternal mothers and newborn children at a cost of 6 crore, while the primary health centre at Semmipalayam would get an accommodation facility for nurses at a cost of 20 lakh.
Subramanian also unveiled the plans to set up a medical laboratory at the Tirupur urban primary health centre at a cost of 49.7 lakh, a new building at the urban primary health centre at Velampalayam at a cost of 1.2 crore and procure a blood purification equipment and advanced equipment for kidney treatment for the Tirupur Medical College and Hospital at a cost of 13 lakh. He said the government hospital at Velampalayam would get advanced medical equipment worth 1.5 crore.
The district, the minister said, would get a new software to upload and maintain accident related information online at a cost of 5.3 lakh.
Subramanian also announced the plans to set up public sanitation facilities in blocks such as Perumanallur, Vellakovil, Kaniyur, Semmipalayam, Kudimangalam and Ponnapuram at an outlay of 4.85 crore.
“Fourteen health sub centres will be constructed in the district at a cost of 4.6 crore. Also, new primary health centres will come up at Kudimangalam and Kaniyur at a cost of 1.7 crore. The urban primary health centre at Palladam will get a new building at a cost of 1.20 crore,” the minister said.
Subramanian said the PRM Home and the urban primary health centre at Susaipuram would get ultrasound scanning equipment to treat pregnant women. “We also have plans to set up additional buildings for PRM Home and the urban primary health centre at Veerapandi at a cost of 1.20 crore.”
The health minister also unveiled the plans to convert 83 rural health sub centres in the district into health centres at a cost 1.16 crore.
