Health officials said besides treating emergency cases, the facility will help people who can not get treatment in private hospitals due to financial constraints. During the second wave of COVID, the demand for a government hospital in the area had grown louder.
On Tuesday, Singh said, “The people of the district will not face any problem reaching this hospital due to its proximity to the Yamuna Expressway. Earlier, we referred accident cases on the expressway to Delhi, but with this facility coming up, many more lives would get saved.”
The 165-km-long Yamuna Expressway connecting the National Capital Region to Agra and West UP witnesses several accidents and related deaths annually.
“Rajkiya Nirman Nigam Limited is building the 100-bed facility, which will serve people involved in accident cases on the expressway and meet other medical needs,” said Sharma.
Health officials said the facility would assume greater significance after the Noida International Airport starts operations in its vicinity by helping meet requirements during any eventuality.
