Human embryos exports allowed with condition: DGFT
"Human embryos/gametes/gonad tissues are free for export subject to no objection certificate from Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)," the Directorate General of Foreign Trade said in a notification.
“Human embryos/gametes/gonad tissues are free for export subject to no objection certificate from Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR),” the Directorate General of Foreign Trade said in a notification.
The DGFT said it has amended the export policy of human embryos under chapter 5, schedule-2 (export policy).
“Their export was free earlier as well but now a condition has been attached,” said an official.
In another notification, DGFT restricted the import of certain new pneumatic tyres used in motor cars, motorcycles, bicycles, busses and lorries in a move to promote domestic manufacturing.
“Retreated and cheap tyres from China were making their way into India and the move will check such imports,” the official added.
India imported $1.68 billion of pneumatic tyres in the April-February period of 2020-21.
