Health dept to start 17-day campaign in filariasis-hit dists
The campaign, which is part of initiative launched by Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the National Vector Borne Disease Control Center (NCVBDC), will run from February 10-27 in 19 districts, including Lucknow, Ballia, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Ayodhya and Banda.

Giving this information, district malaria officer (DMO), Ritu Srivastava told TOI that around 2,500 patients are suffering from this mosquito-borne disease, in the state capital. There are many others who are unaware or reluctant to seek treatment.
CMO office spokesperson Yogesh Raguvanshi said: “During the campaign, we will also set up booths for giving medicines. ”
