Greater Hyd now a health hub: Harish

Hyderabad: Health minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday said Greater Hyderabad which is known as an IT, vaccine and pharma hub is fast emerging as a health hub too with four superspeciality hospitals with 10,000-bed facility coming up in four corners of the city.

Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of new buildings for NIMS here, Harish listed out various initiatives and schemes being implemented for the well-being of the people of Telangana. The opposition parties were turning blind to initiatives like ‘health city’ coming up in Warangal and NIMS being expanded, Palle and Basti Dawakhanas being established, 134 diagnostic tests being conducted free of cost, 102 free dialysis centres, one medical college-cum-superspeciality hospital in every district.

“In all, there will be 33 medical colleges with over 8,340 seats,” he said
