Govt seeks details of costly medicines given to patients
The health department will keep a record of costly medicines being distributed free of cost to patients at government hospitals under the free medicine scheme. All the drugs for which each dose costing more than Rs 3,000 will be monitored closely. The record of its distribution will be maintained as they are high value drugs.
The health department has sought the details of the costly medicines distributed to the patients under the scheme from April 1, 2022 to January 30, 2023.
Anupama Jorwal, managing director, Rajasthan Medical Services Corporation Limited (RMSCL), has written to commissioner, medical education department asking him for ensuring rational use of costly medicines under the Mukhya Mantri Nishulk Nirogi Rajasthan Yojana.
The health department will keep a record of costly medicines being distributed free of cost to patients at government hospitals under the free medicine scheme.
All the drugs for which each dose costing more than Rs 3,000 will be monitored closely. The record of its distribution will be maintained as they are high value drugs.
It has also sought the details of the patients who have received the treatment costly beyond Rs 3 lakh during six months from the start of the scheme from April 1, 2022 to January 30, 2023.
A senior health department official said that they have sought the information to keep strict monitoring of distribution of costly drugs to the patients.
Sawai Man Singh Medical College principal and controller Dr Rajeev Bagarhatta has issued orders to all the superintendent of the attached hospitals to provide the information of patients received costly treatment of more than Rs 3 lakh in six months.
All the high value drugs are being provided to the patients only after the doctor prescribing and it is verified by principal and controller of the respective medical college.
