Government relaxes norms for people cured of Covid to fly
The aviation ministry has relaxed the norms for people who have recovered from coronavirus to fly. Now such people can fly three weeks after recovering from this infection, instead of the two month-rule put in place when domestic air travel had resumed on May 25.
An order issued on May 21 had said passengers have to give a declaration that they have not tested COVID-19 positive in last two months in order to fly.
“With regard to evolving COVID-19 situation, where new cases that have been cured are in large numbers, a need has been felt to update this provision to avoid hardships in the matter of air travel to the persons cured/recovered from COVID-19. It has accordingly been decided to update the above provision with the clause ‘I/we have not tested COVID-19 positive in the last three weeks (COVID-19 recovered persons fulfilling this condition will be allowed to travel upon showing a COVID-19 recovered/discharged certificate from any institution dealing with COVID-19 subjects),” aviation ministry JS Usha Padhee said in an order on Monday.
