Free OPD & IPD services in govt hosps from May 1: Min
Health minister Parsadi Lal Meena on Tuesday said free treatment at OPDs and IPDs across the state will be implemented from May 1, adding that they are resolving all problems that are encountering in the dry run that will continue till April 30 related to medicines and tests.
While inspecting the newly constructed super specialty block at Sawai Man Singh Hospital, Meena said the intention of the government is to provide high quality medical facilities to people. He also gave instructions to improve the arrangements. He said the seven-storey block would serve needy patients.
He visited all the floors and took stock of the facilities at super specialty block.
Meena said at Sawai Man Singh Hospital, treatment of all stomach related diseases would be available under one roof at the super specialty block. Four departments will be shifted to the new block. All these departments deal with stomach related diseases including nephrology, urology, gastroenterology and a new department hepato- pancreato- biliary surgery.
At the super specialty block, diseases related to stomach including gallbladder, kidney, urine, pancreas and stones will be treated. From liver transplant to state-of-the-art ICU facility will be available for the patients in the block. The 320 bed super specialty block has 50 ICUs, 6 modular operation theatres, MRI machines, 7 endoscopy machines, 45 dialysis tables and waiting rooms for the relatives of the patients.
