Extension for contractual health staff

Lucknow: The contract of the medical staff hired during the COVID-19 pandemic period has been extended by two more months, announced deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Tuesday. The employment contract was to expire on Monday, but on appeal of employees they were granted extension. More than 1,000 employees will be benefitted by this decision.

The decision on these outsourcing employees was taken by the director of the National Health Mission (NHM) on the instructions of deputy CM. These employees have been deployed in crucial roles across 53 districts of the state, including laboratories and hospitals. Among them are paramedical staff, lab technicians, generator drivers, class IV staff, and others.

Pathak said that the government is concerned about the future of the employees in view of their services rendered during the pandemic.
