Doctor’s sign a must on prescriptions
The King George's Medical University in Lucknow, India, decided that a treating doctor's stamp and signature will be mandatory on prescriptions for drugs bought at concessional rates from the pharmacies run through the hospital's revolving funds, the order coming two and a half months after the special task force of the police nabbed three members of a gang involved in selling drugs procured from the hospital's HRF pharmacies in open market. In addition, the order in charge of the HRF outlets was directed to "click photographs of every prescription and post them on the WhatsApp group of the outlet," for daily stock verification.
The order has come two-and-half months after the special task force (STF) of the police nabbed three members of a gang involved in selling drugs procured from the KGMU’s HRF pharmacies in open market.
In the order, in charge of the KGMU HRF outlets, Prof Anuradha Nishchal also directed all the pharmacists of in-house medical stores to click photographs of every prescription and post them on the WhatsApp group of the outlet and conduct stock verification daily.
