Delhi high court issues summons to Ramdev on DMA plea over false info about Coronil kit

New Delhi: The Delhi high court on Thursday issued summons to yoga guru Ramdev on a suit filed by Delhi Medical Association (DMA). The suit seeks to restrain Ramdev from disseminating false information about Patanjali's Coronil kit as a cure for Covid-19.

Besides responding to the suit, the high court has asked the counsel for Ramdev to tell him not to make any provocative statement till the next date of hearing which is on July 13. .

The association further told that Ramdev's statement affects as that medicine does not cure coronavirus and it is misleading.

The suit by DMA comes days after the Indian Medical Association (IMA) lodged a police complaint against yoga guru Ramdev, seeking an FIR over his "dishonest and wrongful representations" on allopathy.

In the complaint submitted at the IP Estate Police Station, the apex medical body said Ramdev has "wilfully and deliberately spread false, baseless and malicious information" about treatment of Covid patients by established and approved methods and drugs.
