Dehradun: Centre releases Rs 9.88 crore for state cancer institute
Officials said that the total amount approved for setting up the State Cancer Institute at Haldwani is Rs 103 crore. Of which, the Union government’s share is 90% which comes to Rs 93.29 crore and the state share is 10%, which is Rs 10.36 crore.
As the first installment, the Union government has released Rs 9.88 crore for the project, the officials added. The project has been initiated under the strengthening of tertiary care for cancer scheme of national programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke during 2019-20.
