COVID-19 update by Health Secretary to floor leaders and PM
The Opposition floor leaders will attend the meeting in the Parliament annexe in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Informing about the meeting Derek O' Brien, Rajya Sabha MP in a tweet said, “#Parliament. Constructive Opposition prevails. At an all-party meet, Parliamentary Affairs Minister announced ‘PM would make a presentation on #COVID19 in a conference room’. We insisted any statement by PM must be inside Parliament. Now been informed HEALTH SECRETARY TO ADDRESS MEET in ‘august presence of PM’," O’ Brien tweeted on Monday."
“Dear Prime Minister, Sir...We so want to hear you in both Houses. Tell us about key issues #COVID19 #PriceHike #FarmersProtest #economy #federalism and more...,” he said in another tweet.
India reported 29,314 new cases on Monday. The last time the daily count had fallen below 30,000 was on March 16. Cases see a sharp drop during Mondays due to lower testing and staff shortages over the weekend. On Sunday, India had recorded 38,574 fresh cases.
