The health minister along with chief minister Bhagwant Mann’s wife Dr Gurpreet Kaur and senior officials visited the Dhuri hospital and interacted with the staff and patients undergoing treatment. The minister said in the next six months cleanliness of the government hospitals would be streamlined. The safety of the staff and availability of medicines will also be ensured.
He said, “The CM has set a target that within a year or two, all the tests and medicines should be made available free of cost inside the hospitals. The government hospitals will be made better than corporate hospitals and there will be no shortage of specialist doctors and the needy will not face any problem there.”
“Recently 271 specialist doctors have been recruited by the chief minister and the remaining vacancies will be filled soon,” he added.
The health minister said the previous governments had neglected the health sector and the people had to bear its brunt. It is for the first time that a chief minister has done many things, including giving jobs to the unemployed, recruiting specialist doctors, etc. in the very first year of his government, he said.
The people are getting benefited from the facilities available at the Aam Aadmi Clinics established in the state, the minister added.
