Change bedsheets in hospitals daily: Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak
Maintaining hygiene should be our utmost priority “But I have received complaints that bedsheets are not being changed daily,”Brajesh Pathak, Deputy chief minister.
Pathak, chairing a meeting of chief medical superintendents and chief medical officers of hospitals across the state, said that apart from medical colleges and institutions, there are 167 district hospitals, 873 community health centres (CHCs), 2,934 rural and 593 urban primary health centres.
Over 12,000 injured and 8,000 chronic diseases patients are being admitted daily in these hospitals so maintaining hygiene should be our utmost priority. “But I have received complaints that bedsheets are not being changed daily,” he added.
“From now, if such complaints come action would be taken against CMS and CMOs because dirty and contaminated bedsheets could lead to hospital acquired infection,” said Pathak. Besides, he said, officials should get the toilet cleaned regularly.
