Central team to inspect healthcare schemes in Rajasthan
A team from the Union ministry of health has arrived in Rajasthan to review the health schemes running in the state.
The team will visit Sriganganagar and Rajsamand districts to review the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
During Saturday's meeting, Union health ministry deputy commissioner Damodar Bakani sought details of the work being done for improvement of healthcare services in Rajasthan.
A health department official said the team would collect details during its seven days' stay in the state. The Central team also held a meeting with NRHM mission director (state) Navin Jain and additional mission director Neeraj K Pawan that lasted for five hours, the official said, adding the team has collected all details about the schemes launched under NRHM in the state for the betterment of healthcare facilities.
The official further said they had shared the details on an initiative taken by the health department to improve healthcare facilities. The health department's recent initiation of launching pentavalent vaccine, ASHA soft, social audit of maternal deaths and e-Shubh Laxmi schemes were also discussed during the meeting. The department officials apprised the CRM officials that the recently launched schemes would improve the healthcare services in the state, which in turn would improve the health indicators like reducing maternal mortality ratio and infant mortality rate.
Moreover, both the parties held a detailed discussion on the Rajasthan Medical Services Cooperation and its functioning to ensure that the free medicine and free diagnostic schemes are properly implemented. Health department officials also took up problems they are facing in programme implementation plans in 2014-15. A detailed discussion was also held on national urban health mission to be launched in the state soon.
