Lucknow: With over 4.7 crore online OPD registrations, UP now leads among states on the count, suggests data from the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.

Citing this data here on Friday, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak said, "Public is getting high-level health services in the govt hospitals of UP. Free medicines and quality treatment are being provided. This is the reason why UP is number one in OPD registration across the country."

The ABDM further shows that in the last two years, about 4.7 crore online registrations were done for the Outpatient Department (OPD) through the Scan and Share service under the National Health Authority (NHA).

Out of these, 1.24 crore OPD tokens were issued from Uttar Pradesh alone. At the same time, in states like Tamil Nadu and Kerala, less than 10,000 OPD registration tokens were given through this service.

Pathak, who holds the health and family welfare portfolios in the state cabinet, further noted that out of the 25 hospitals with the highest online OPD registrations in the country, 15 are from Uttar Pradesh followed by five from Andhra Pradesh.

Data showed that Andhra Pradesh follows UP in online OPD registration, where 81 lakh patients took online tokens for treatment in OPD, while Bihar bagged the third place with a total of 57 lakh tokens.

According to the data, Tamil Nadu is at the bottom of this list with just 949 tokens. Himachal Pradesh is second from the bottom, where only 1,365 OPD registrations were done online. After this, only 2,381 patients in Goa and 7,983 patients in Kerala took online registration tokens for treatment in OPD.

Insisting that providing high-level health services to the public is the top priority of the govt, Pathak said, "We are providing quality services to the patients and their caretakers."
