The money will be sent to the deceased’s legal heir through a Direct Bank Transfer (DBT)
The ward revenue office of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has been authorised to collect applications from the families of covid victims to seek compensation. The state government had announced a grant of Rs 1.50 lakh for families under the Below Poverty Line (BPL) and another Rs 50,000 from the union government for other families of covid victims. Many families were clueless regarding where to submit the documents. The compensation is being dispersed under the Sandhya Suraksha Yojana and Karnataka under State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF). The money will be sent to the deceased’s legal heir through a Direct Bank Transfer (DBT).
To avail the compensation, the families are expected to submit an application to their ward revenue officer. The applicants have to fill ‘Form 1’ which has details of dead persons and applicants deals by producing documents such as covid positive results, patient’s BU number, death certificate or death summary from the hospital (Form-4/4a), identification document of the deceased, BPL card of the deceased (if any), applicant’s Aadhar card, bank passbook copy and self declaration form (Form-2).
