Market Now: BSE Healthcare index down; Sun Pharma tanks 2%
The BSE Healthcare index was trading 0.66 per cent down at 13,597 around 12:30 pm (IST).
Shares of SMS Pharmaceuticals (down 2.13 per cent), Lincoln Pharmaceuticals (down 2.09 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (down 2.07 per cent), Sequent Scientific (down 2.07 per cent), Aarti Drugs (down 1.81 per cent), Syngene International (down 1.67 per cent), Thyrocare Technologies (down 1.65 per cent), Laurus Labs (down 1.40 per cent) and RPG Life Sciences (down 1.31 per cent) tanked up to 2 per cent on BSE in Friday's trade.
The BSE Healthcare index was trading 0.66 per cent down at 13,597 around 12:30 pm (IST).
On the other hand, shares of IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals (up 4.99 per cent), Neuland Laboratories (up 4.34 per cent) and Hester Biosciences (up 4.28 per cent) jumped up to 5 per cent.
Stocks such as Orchid Pharma (up 3.60 per cent), FDC (up 2.52 per cent), Healthcare Global Enterprises (up 1.94 per cent), Morepen Laboratories (up 1.35 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma (up 0.94 per cent), Natco Pharma (up 0.79 per cent), Nectar Lifesciences (up 0.67 per cent), Alkem Laboratories (up 0.65 per cent) and Merck (up 0.60 per cent) were also among the gainers.
Benchmark BSE Sensex was 298 points down at 33,387, while the NSE Nifty50 index was down 94 points at 10,266.
Among the 30 stocks in the Sensex index, 6 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.
