He purchased medicines prescribed in an online advertisement of a Delhi-based medical facility and ended up paying Rs 60,600 with no improvement in his condition. The man realised he was being cheated when the suppliers sent him one drug after another but none worked.
At this, the man asked for a refund but even for that, the supplier demanded money for GST and fees of a lawyer who would complete legal formalities. The man finally approached police on Thursday night and lodged an FIR against five persons-Dr AK Singh, Dr Ajai Singh, Rahul Singh, Dr Ashok Singh and an unidentified lawyer. According to the FIR, the man had received a message from the facility on his mobile phone three months ago.
He placed an order online and a medicine was couriered to him. When it made no impact, he called his suppliers who identified themselves as doctors and replaced the medicine after charging more money.
SHO Gomtinagar Amit Dubey said, "We are investigating who owned the accounts in which the money was transferred."
