Jaipur: Ayurveda unit found making allopathic medicines illegally

JAIPUR: In a raid, sleuths of crime branch unearthed an ayurveda medicine facility which was illegally manufacturing allopathic drugs at a residential area in Jawahar Nagar on Tuesday. The facility was running without any licence.

Additional director general of police (crime) B L Soni said one Jaiveer Yadav, who is representative of a Pune-based pharma company, had complained to the crime branch special team in-charge Jitendra Gangwani that there is a firm in Jawahar Nagar which is producing liver tonics and some medicines which are useful for woman health using his firm’s name.

Acting on the complaint, the state crime branch team conducted raid at the house, he said. Soni said that they have registered an FIR at Jawahar Nagar police station against the accused Narendra Sukhani, after conducting raid at his house, found that he was using machines and illegally producing allopathic medicines.

In the initial investigation, the police claimed that they have found that he was supplying the allopathic medicines to his client in Agra. While checking the records of the firm, they have found that the accused firm had supplied 2000 bottles of liver tonics to Agra. The police have seized bill book and stock register. The police are questioning the accused firm owner Narendra Sukhani and his partner Ravindra Pratap Singh.

The police have registered a case under section 419, 420, 464, 468 and 120 B under IPC and section 33 E(C) of Drug and Cosmetic Act 1940. Soni said that they have detained one Arvind Sharma, a resident of Agra on the basis of statement of Ravindra Pratap Singh for allegedly selling the allopathic medicines produced in Jaipur from his chemist shop in Agra.
