Alkem's Taloja facility gets clean chit by UK health regulator

NEW DELHI: Drug firm Alkem Laboratories on Tuesday said the UK health regulator has given a clean chit to its Taloja facility in Maharashtra after going through the corrective and preventive steps submitted by the company.

The company on Tuesday announced the closure of the inspection by the UKMHRA for its its bio-equivalence facility in Taloja.

"The facility stands UKMHRA compliant," Alkem Labs said in a regulatory filing.

The health regulator has reviewed the corrective and preventive actions submitted by the company and has considered them acceptable, it added.

The UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulator Agency (UKMHRA) had inspected the facility at Taloja from March 14-18 and had notified eight observations in a report dated March 31, 2016.

Alkem shares were trading 1.35 per cent higher at Rs 1362.50 apiece on BSE at 03:22 pm.
