US based medical device company to partner with UP govt for healthcare
A delegation from Medtronic, reached Lucknow on Sunday evening to partner with Uttar Pradesh (UP) government on some of its 'structural barriers' towards healthcare.
To meet the state health minister Siddharth Nath Singh and visit the Balrampur hospital in the city on Monday and another hospital in Kanpur, the delegation was previously part of the US-India Stretegic Partnership Forum that had met chief minister (CM) Aditya Nath Yogi last month in UP.
On arrival, country head for the company, Amit Kumar Singh told reporters that the medical device company will partner with the state government to bring better and affordable health services to the state and meet the unmet needs.
The structural barriers in UP, delegates said, were lack of public awareness on diseases, diagnosis and treatment options, lack of standard treatment guidelines and patient outcomes data collection, inadequate skilled physicians, deficient world-class healthcare infrastructure and lack of healthcare reimbursement options
