NGO Uddami India Foundation hands over 30 oxygen concentrators to rural hospitals in West Bengal
The oxygen concentrators much in demand due to the Covid-19 situation were handed over to five rural hospitals. They were sent as a gift from the USA by Indian students and teachers of Cornell University so that the pandemic can be better handled in Bengal.
The oxygen concentrators much in demand due to the Covid-19 situation were handed over to five rural hospitals. They were sent as a gift from the USA by Indian students and teachers of Cornell University so that the pandemic can be better handled in Bengal.
Asha for Education, Give India, Mukti and three other NGOs had also collaborated in bringing the oxygen concentrators from the USA.
Dr Ankit Kumar of Budge Budge rural hospital said that such infrastructure support will help the patients to a great extent.
Hashamanjari Nanda, executive director, Uddami India Foundation said that they will soon be reaching remote Sunderbans islands like Sagar and Hingalgunj to hand over the oxygen concentrators, as the islanders face a lot of difficulties to reach hospitals in Kolkata.
The NGO is also providing free training to unemployed youths so that they become employable as paramedical staff and many of their trainees are working as Covid warriors in different hospitals and nursing homes, said Golok Debnath coordinator of Uddami India Foundation.
