World Parkinson's Awareness Day observed at BHU

Varanasi: The department of Neurology, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, observed World Parkinson's Awareness Day on Friday with an impactful awareness event held at the Neurology Outpatient Department (OPD).

The programme was organised under the guidance of Dr Deepika Joshi and Dr Varun Kumar Singh to educate patients and the public about Parkinson's disease-a progressive neurological disorder affecting movement. The programme was attended by Dr SN Shankhwar, IMS director, Dr Nilesh Kumar, deputy MS, IMS, Dr Abhishek Pathak, professor & head, prof V N Mishra, and prof R N Chaurasia. As a part of the initiative, medications and specially designed orthotic spoons were distributed to patients, aiding in their daily management of the disease and improving quality of life.
