Unable to pay for treatment, man kills 4-year-old son
A truck driver, identified as 30-year-old Mohammad Tariq, was arrested in Uttarakhand’s Rudrapur on Wednesday for allegedly killing his four-year-old son, who was suffering from haemophilia.
Superintendent of police (city), Mamata Vohra, said, “Tariq approached police on Tuesday with a complaint that his son, Shaban, was missing. Tariq claimed that he took Shaban for a bike ride and then left him outside the house. Subsequently, he went to his paternal house in Bareilly district and when he returned home, he found out that Shaban had not reached home yet. ”
However, probe findings didn’t match Tariq’s story. “As Tariq’s story fell flat, we interrogated him again,” SP Vohra added. Tariq told police that Shaban was born with haemophilia and he had spent a lot of money to get him cured but in vain. Exasperated with his financial condition, he claimed he decided to kill his son.
