Telangana govt's health screening plan from August 26

HYDERABAD: The state health department will carry out the universal health screening programme between August 26 and September 30, with an aim of detecting 13 different types of diseases including psychiatric illnesses, pallaitive care, TB, leprosy and communicable diseases.

While a video conference with all district medical health officers (DMHOs) was conducted by the state health commissioner Yogitha Rana on Tuesday, the guidelines for the programme were issued on Wednesday. For the screening, door-to-door inspections will be carried out every morning from 6:30 am to 9:30 am by anganwadi workers, auxiliary midwives, self-help groups along with personnel from the health department. Officials aim at covering nearly 75 lakh families under the screening programme.
