Take ample precaution as temp rises: Health dept
As temperature is soaring high in the state, people facing health issues due to heatwave have started coming to hospitals for treatment.“Those with fever, dizziness, headache, vomiting coming to the hospitals could be the cases who are exposed to heat.
“Those with fever, dizziness, headache, vomiting coming to the hospitals could be the cases who are exposed to heat. Some of the mild cases are being reported as the temperature has increased,” said Dr Narrottam Sharma, chief medical health officer (Jaipur-I).
The health department officials said that people need to remain alert as the temperature are expected to increase further in the state.
“We have alerted all our districts to remain alert on heat wave. However, as of now, not much cases related to heat have been reported. People need to remain careful as temperature may rise further. People are aware on how to beat heat, but we are also spreading awareness on it,” said Dr Ravi Prakash Sharma, additional director (rural health), health department.
The health department officials claimed that heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke are preventable if people take proper care and take precaution during summers.
“Avoid going out of the houses during daytime. If you have to go out during intense heat, drink a lot of fluids, properly cover body by wearing full sleeves shirts, use sunglasses, cover head. If symptoms of heat exhaustion are developed, take medical advise and proper treatment,” the officials said.
According to the health experts, some of the common symptoms of heat exhaustion are heavy sweating, faintness, dizziness, fatigue, weak, rapid pulse, low blood pressure upon standing and muscle cramps.
