RED Health's VA-ECMO air transfer saves woman with hypoxemic respiratory failure
“The patient was in a precarious condition, with oxygen saturation levels dropping to a dangerously low 72 percent. Using the VA-ECMO (Veno-Arterial Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) air transfer helped improve the patient's oxygen saturation levels to 92 percent, providing her the best chance for safe transport while receiving continuous respiratory support during the flight, RED Health stated.
Elaborating on the patient's condition, the company said, “The patient was in a precarious condition, with oxygen saturation levels dipping to a dangerously low 72 percent. Using the VA-ECMO air transfer helped improve the patient's oxygen saturation to 92 percent, providing her the best chance for safe transport while receiving continuous respiratory support during the flight.”
Prabhdeep Singh, Founder & CEO of RED Health, said, “In a medical emergency, time is of the essence. Our team worked tirelessly to stabilize the patient and ensure her safe transfer. It’s a testament to our commitment to saving lives.”
