Rajasthan witnesses minor drop in active Covid cases, fresh infections

JAIPUR: There was a minor relief in terms of number of Covid-19 cases on Friday when almost after a month 1,473 fresh cases were reported which took the total number of cases to 4,75,2183 in the state. The number of active cases in December has dipped to 17,721.

There was also a dip in the number of deaths which were 14 and took the total to 2,514.

Jaipur has reported maximum number of fresh cases with 361 infections. This is a lower number of cases compared to what Jaipur has been witnessing in terms of infections especially in November.

Authorities stated that continues dip in the cases is being reported.

“Active cases which were over 9,000 in November in Jaipur have also gone down to 7,884 on Friday which is a sign of relief for us. Out of these cases, 70% are under home isolation and we have more than 60% of beds empty,” said Dr Ajeet Singh, medical superintendent of RUHS said.

Out of 14 deaths, three deaths were reported from Jodhpur, two from Jalore and one death each from Ajmer, Barmer, Bharatpur, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Kota, Nagaur, Sawai Madhopur and Sikar.

Jaipur was followed by Jodhpur where 145 cases were reported, Kota 101, Bhilwara 72, Ajmer 64, Pali 62 and Dungarpur 54. In rest of the districts, cases were varying from 51 to two. Authorities stated that one of the relief in the state is that the number of active cases is also dropping as the cases have now dropped to 17,721.
