Rajasthan to get 100 primary trauma care units in community health centres by July
Officials said the objective is to stabilise an accident victim with initial healthcare and then shift to a higher centre, if needed.

“Primary trauma stabilsation units are being developed in 100 community health centres across the state as a capacity building measure where doctors and nursing staff will be trained on how to give initial healthcare services to trauma victims. These trauma units will work through complete recovery of trauma victims from stabilisation till rehabilitation for post traumatic shock. Infrastructure development work has already been completed in70 centres and rest of the work will be done by July-end,” said Nidhi Singh, joint commissioner for road safety with the state transport department.
According to official records, seven trauma units have been made in Ajmer district, four in Bhilwara and Nagaur each, two in Tonk, eight in Alwar, two in Dausa, three in Jaipur rural area, five in Jhunjhunu, four in Sikar, three in areas under Jaipur transport commissionerate, three in Banswara, one in Pratapgarh and Rajasamand each, three in Udaipur, two each in Dangurpur, Baranand Jhalawar, three in Kota, one in Jaisalmer, four each in Jodhpur and Barmer, two each in Jalore and Sirohi, three each in Pali, Bharatpur, Dholpur and Karauli, three in Sawai Madhopur, five in Bikaner, two each in Churu and Hanumangarh and three in Sriganganagar.
Officials said that healthcare personnel are being trained specially for trauma care at skill lab set up SMS Hospital in Jaipur. Every year, the road safety cell plans to train 360 personnel with 30 participants in each session including doctors and nurses.
Equipment like trauma care crash cart, laryngoscope, ambu bag, pulmo aid (nebulizer), sterilizer, glucometer, Thomas splint, multi para monitor, patient stretcher trolleys, digital thermometers, ECG machine three channel, radiology high frequency x-ray machines, etc.
