New Delhi Municipal Council announces scheme for affordable healthcare in city

New Delhi: Aimed at providing affordable healthcare to people from economically weaker sections in the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) area, Satish Upadhyay, vice-chairman, NDMC, on Tuesday announced the implementation of Ayushman Bharat Yojna soon in the area.

The council meeting in May this year gave its in-principle approval for the implementation of Ayushman Bharat Pradhanmantri Jan Arogya Yojna (ABPMJY) for smart city residents, said Upadhyay.

Currently, the floating population of NDMC area as per the 2011 census is around 2.5 lakh.

The data of the beneficiaries under this scheme will be taken and the scheme will be implemented for them, he added.
