Namakkal gets breast milk bank at Rs 6 Lakh
The state government has inaugurated a ‘breast milk bank’ at a cost of Rs 6 lakh at the Namakkal district headquarters’ government hospital on Saturday.
Further, new version of CTS scans and Rs 3.5 crore worth mobile digital X-ray and mobile digital sonogram and mammogram equipment were also provided to the hospital on Saturday.
“The state government has spent Rs 20.82 lakh for the mammogram to aid women with the early detection of breast cancer. The equipment will benefit people in and around Namakkal,” state health minister C Vijayabaskar said.
Further, palliative care unit was started in the government hospital at a cost of Rs 16.52 lakh.
Also, as a corporate social responsibility, Samsung India firm has provided Rs 2.2 crore to procure advanced mobile digital x-ray and digital ultra sound equipment. The minister said government hospital has 468 beds.
