MyHealthcare partners with Ashoka University for evidence-based clinical research
MyHealthcare will work with Ashoka University to improve clinical data collecting, curation, and analytics, as well as to contribute to the development of an evidence-based clinical decision support system for critical chronic conditions including cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and diabetes.
MyHealthcare focuses on bridging the healthcare delivery gap by creating an integrated healthcare ecosystem. The ecosystem uses effective, data-driven care protocols to help clinicians and doctors deliver effective treatment to their patients. Building on this foundation, MyHealthcare will work with Ashoka University to improve clinical data collection, curation, and analytics and help develop an evidence-based clinical decision support system across key chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and diabetes.
Speaking on the partnership, Prof L S Shashidhara, Dean of Research, Ashoka University, said, "We are committed to education, training, and research on growing lifestyle diseases and use evidence-based models to create effective preventive care medicine. The outcome of our partnership with MyHealthcare will help in deepening our research and help catalyse the growth and awareness of preventive medicine."
On signing the MoU, Shyatto Raha, Founder, MyHealthcare said, "Through this partnership, we get to work with the finest scientists, clinicians, and best minds in biosciences and life sciences in building an effective framework for clinical research and health data infrastructure. The alliance will allow us to bring in our partner hospitals to generate greater access to real-world studies and clinical research, to deliver evidence-based care models."
As a part of this engagement, Ashoka University will provide its expertise in data analysis, biomedical research, and public health expertise in data collection and will further ensure access to scientists, academicians, data analysts, public health experts, etc. for accelerating this joint research initiative.
According to Dr Anurag Agrawal, Dean of Biosciences & Health Research, Ashoka University, "This joint programme opens up the opportunity to generate real-world evidence regarding medical care and conduct world-class research. Such work is essential for creating more effective personalised care protocols in a diverse nation like India. "
Dr Poorva Nandedkar, Head of Clinical Transformation, MyHealthcare, added, "Our goal through this partnership will be to expand our research on patterns of certain diseases, use the evidence-based treatment models and care protocols, leading to ground-breaking clinical discoveries along with improving overall clinical outcomes."
Speaking about the importance of collaboration between industry, technology and academia, Prof Subhashis Banerjee, Head of Department, Computer Science, Ashoka University, said, "Such partnerships are instrumental in advancing research, creating a skilled workforce, and most importantly, enabling policies for the utilisation of AI for India’s development."
The current clinical research industry lacks an organised framework and representation of reliable data sets, which leads to diagnosis errors or increases the timeline for accurate diagnosis. MyHealthcare will assist Ashoka University by providing structured real-world data, ready for interdisciplinary clinical research studies that are relevant to the Indian population, added Arohi Kumari, Head of Strategy, MyHealthcare.
