Mumbai hospitals have just 23 Covid positive patients; 3 deaths in March

While the third Omicron wave didn’t see as many hospitalisation as the second Delta wave, civic officials said the admissions are at an all-time low in the city. The city's Covid bed strength had to be upgraded to 35,000-plus in early 2021 due to the rising Covid cases.
The daily tally in Mumbai, too, is also low, with only 33 cases registered on Saturday. Only three deaths—one each on March 6, 16 and 25—were registered in the city this month.
BMC additional commissioner Suresh Kakani said Mumbai is in a good place at the moment. “However, we cannot relax and lower our guard considering the rise in Omicron cases in the West and South Korea,’’ he said.
