MTA backs nurses on ongoing strike
The members performed ‘sadbuddhi yagya’ on the fourth day of their strike. On Thursday, the MY hospital witnessed footfall of 2926 OPD patients from 8 am to 2pm and admission of 176 new patients. Also, 62 surgeries were also performed including 14 major surgeries and seven deliveries, showed records from hospital.
MTA officebearers handed over a letter in this regard to nursing association members, whose protest entered the fourth day on Thursday.
MGM president Dr Arvind Ghanghoria said, “MTA extended their support to the protesting nursing officer association and demanded that the state government accept their demand so that they resume work.”
“Because of the strike, there are issues in running daily patient services at the hospitals,” said Dr Ghanghoria.
The nursing association has been on an indefinite strike to press their demands of increase in grade pay, old pension scheme, increase in stipend of nursing students, night allowance and others.

The numbers have witnessed an increase showing an improvement in patient care in hospital. The surgeries number was 35 on Wednesday, nine on Tuesday, showed records.
