Mizoram has highest HIV/AIDS cases: Health minister Lalrinpuii
In a written reply to a query from K Beichhua of the BJP member, Lalrinpuii said as the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) does not give out information on the state of the HIV/AIDS, except HIV Estimation, it is not possible to have data on positivity rates of other states.

"However, as per the report of the HIV Estimation in 2023, Mizoram has the highest adult prevalence among the age group of 15 to 49 years, which is 2.32 per cent," she said.
She said cancer remains the biggest killer among the non-communicable diseases in the state with 374 people, including 147 women, succumbing to different forms of cancer during 2022-2023.
She said cerebrovascular disease is the second biggest killer among non-communicable diseases resulting in the deaths of 186 people, followed by hypertensive disease which killed 111 during the same period.
