Man held for posing as cancer doctor
Yet another person has been arrested for allegedly pretending to be a doctor specializing in cancer treatment.
Police said Chatterjee was unable to provide any document to prove his credentials, leading to his arrest.
The clinic has been treating terminal cancer patients with palliative care. Though the clinic is a 10-bedded centre, hosts of cancer patients throng the place daily. Aradeep’s father is a senior homoeopath, and started the clinic many years ago.
The senior Chatterjee has a good reputation in the medical fraternity — alternative as well as the mainstream.
Lake Town police took up a suo motu case and approached Chatterjee for his credentials. He was arrested when he could not produce any. His father has rejected charges that Aradeep claimed to be a doctor.
“My son worked an as cancer researcher and not as a doctor. There has been some misunderstanding or some people are trying to tarnish the image of the clinic,” he told TOI.
