Ludhiana: Chemists’ association calls for strike on Oct 16
The basic issue that was highlighted in the meeting was the new drug policy 2019 which was affecting sales and drug license in urban and rural areas.
Apart from this announcement they will also write to 117 MLAs of the state about the difficulties that they have been facing till now. The members claimed despite several representations to the drug and health department, the state government was not paying heed to their problems.

The officials also rued that the government had not issued a single license in last 6 months even after they met with all the criteria. Gurbaksh Singh Chawla, president of Ludhiana district chemist association said that the cases have been pending with the drug authorities and health department. He said that the department should intervene and provide solution primarily in the drug policy .
