King George's Medical University expels six junior doctors over clash
A fine of Rs 10,000 each has been slapped on six other junior residents for their conduct during the clash. Three are from orthopaedics and the rest from medicine.
Those expelled for half a year include two each from the orthopaedics and medicine departments. The other two are also from the same departments. KGMU proctor RAS Kushwaha said the decisions had been taken by the vice-chancellor on Friday after scrutiny of the inquiry report. Senior residents and faculty members of all departments have been directed to prevent a rerun.
The clash between inmates of the two departments had taken place after a junior resident of orthopaedics was brought to the medicine wing for treatment in an inebriated state. Counter FIRs had been lodged.
