Kerala: 80 children wrongly given Covaxin instead of Corbevax vaccine for Covid-19 in Thrissur
About 80 children were wrongly given Covaxin instead of Corbevax vaccine for Covid-19, at the family health centre at Nenmanikkara in the district on Saturday. Among them 48 were given Covaxin as the first dose while 32 were given the vaccine as their second dose.
The district health authorities said there was no need for panic as he drug controller of India had given the sanction to administer both the vaccines among children above 12 years. However, they said, special arrangements have been made at the centre if anyone required any medical help.
The general hospital and medical college hospital have also been directed to given the required help.
District collector Haritha V Kumar has directed the DMO to conduct a probe, and submit a report.
