Kerala: 11,000 fresh Covid cases, test positivity rate below 12%

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state reported 11,196 Covid-19 positive cases with a test positivity rate of 11.60% when the results of 96,436 samples tested in the last 24 hours arrived on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, 149 more recent deaths were confirmed as caused by Covid, taking the related death toll in the state to 24,811. At the same time, 18,849 patients recovered from the disease on the day.

Thiruvananthapuram reported the highest number of cases 1,339. The total active cases at present are 1,49,356. In total, 4,70,518 people are presently under observation across the state.

As per the weekly infection population ratio, 745 wards in 368 local bodies are having WIPR more than 10%. Strict lockdown restrictions have been implemented in these wards.
