India reports 1.27 lakh fresh Covid case in last 54 days

India on Tuesday reported 1.27 lakh fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 54 days, maintaining the trend of declining new cases, according to the data provided by Health Ministry.

With about 2,55,287 patients recovering from Covid-19, marking 92.09 percent of the recovery rate during the last 24 hours, the country's cumulative recovery cases so far now stands at 2,59,47,629. This is the 19th successive day in a row when Covid-19 recovery cases continue to outnumber daily new infection cases.

The country's active caseload has witnessed a decline in cases by 1,30,572 in the last 24 hours, taking the total active caseload to 18,95,520 which is below 20 lakh recorded in the last 43 days.

The country's weekly positivity rate currently stands at 8.64 percent with the daily positivity rate declining to 6.62 percent, less than 10 percent for the seventh consecutive day.

The country's testing capacity has substantially ramped up to 34.67cr total tests conducted

The ministry also informed that 21.6 crore of vaccine doses have been administered in the country, so far under nationwide vaccination drive.
