India registers 173 new COVID-19 cases, active cases stand at 2,670

New Delhi: A Day after the grand celebrations of New Year, India has recorded 173 new cases in the last 24 hours. The active cases in the country stand at 2,670, accounting for 0.01 per cent. The daily positivity rate is 0.19 per cent and the weekly positivity rate is 0.14 per cent.

Total of 220.10 crore COVID vaccine doses are administered under the nationwide vaccination drive till now. Out of which, 6,675 doses were administered in the last 24 hours, as per the union health ministry.

The statement from the ministry informed that 207 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours increasing the total recoveries to 4,41,45,445. Consequently, the recovery rate currently stands at 98.8 per cent.

A total of 91.10 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far, out of which 92,955 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
