India registers 128 new COVID-19 cases, active cases stand at 1998
The active cases in the country stand at 1998 and the daily positivity rate is 0.07 per cent and the weekly positivity rate is 0.09 per cent. In the last 24 hours, 173 recoveries were made.
India recorded the lowest daily COVID-19 cases since March 27, 2020, recording 89 new coronavirus infections yesterday.
A total of 91.36 crores of COVID-19 tests were conducted so far; 1,75,392 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate is 0.07 per cent and the weekly positivity rate is 0.09 per cent.
“India has administered 220.18 crores total vaccine doses (95.15 crores second dose and 22.46 crore precaution dose) of COVID-19 have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive. 96,200 doses administered in the last 24 hours,” the statement added.
Also, 173 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours increasing the total recoveries to 4,41,48,645. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.8 per cent.
India crossed the 20 lakh mark of its COVID-19 tally on August 7, 2020, and by September 16, 2020, the country had crossed the 50 lakh mark. But by January 25, 2022, the country crossed the grim milestone of four crore total coronavirus infections.
