Health dept takes a stock of samples at Ghaziabad blood centres

Ghaziabad: The health department in Ghaziabad will ensure quality blood donation in the district through regular reviews of the blood centres. Following instructions from the state blood transfusion council for increasing voluntary blood donation in the state, maximum manufacturing of blood components and implementation of guidelines of Food and Drug Cosmetics Rules and National Blood Transfusion Council a review meeting was held on Friday.

During the meeting at the CMO office, the blood center was reviewed taking an update on the number of blood collection units, and outdoor voluntary blood donation percentage. The officials also asked for the number of expired blood units and outdoor voluntary blood donation camps conducted and planned in the near future.

The Ghaziabad CMO Dr Bhavtosh Shankdhar also told the officials to review the status of reports updated on the e-RaktKosh portal.
