Goa:39 samples test positive for JN.1 Covid variant
One new incidence of Covid-19 was reported by the state on Friday, out of 150 samples examined. In the state, there are 26 active cases at the moment. Among the other states and Union territories, Goa has the fifth-highest number of JN.1 cases reported. In all, 1,104 JN.Thus far, one case has been found in each of the sixteen states and the Union territories. With 214 incidents, Karnataka has the most, followed by Andhra Pradesh (189), Maharashtra (170), Kerala (154), and Goa (90).
The state reported one new Covid-19 case on Friday, out of 150 samples tested. There are currently 26 active cases in the state. Goa has detected the fifth-highest JN.1 cases among other states and Union territories.
A total of 1,104 JN.1 cases have been detected across 16 states and Union territories to date. Karnataka has the highest cases with 214, followed by Andhra Pradesh with 189, Maharashtra with 170, Kerala with 154, and Goa with 90.
JN.1 has been the dominant strain in Goa since the end of November.
In the last batch of samples sent for genome sequencing too—for the second half of December—all 33 samples were found to be the JN.1 variant.
