As a country grows, so do its waste dumps. In India, solid waste disposal sites have been making headlines of late — Gazipur in Delhi, Mulund and Deonar in Mumbai, Belahalli in Bengaluru. And the story is no different elsewhere. The world today generates more than 2 billion tonnes of trash which, over the next three decades, is expected to grow 1.7 times.
