Experts discuss advances in anaging Advanced Liver Disease
At a three-day event, hepatology experts focused on improving patient outcomes, particularly in ICU care, while exploring complex aspects of liver disease. Key discussions covered liver regeneration in decompensated cirrhosis, the liver-heart connection in MASH cirrhosis, and emerging treatments.
The APASL BUILD 3.0 (Brainstorming, Update, and Innovations in Liver Diseases) Conference was led by Dr Akash Shukla, Director & Consultant, Department of Hepatology at Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital (HN RFH).
Key discussions centered on enhancing patient outcomes, particularly in ICU care, and exploring complex aspects of liver disease. Experts examined topics such as liver regeneration in decompensated cirrhosis, the liver-heart connection in MASH cirrhosis, and potential new treatments.
Dr Tarang Gianchandani, CEO, Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital, emphasized the urgency of early detection, said,“Liver disease is a growing global crisis, often diagnosed too late, leading to dire outcomes. It is the 10th leading cause of mortality in India. Greater awareness is needed, similar to that for cancer and heart diseases. At HN RFH, our expertise in AI-driven predictive analytics will soon help identify liver disease at an early stage, giving patients a real chance at recovery.”
